Public cab and Sunlight Radio Taxi are now offer online taxi booking service for their customer.  To book the taxi, you just go to their web site to fill up the booking form with your personal detail as well as the booking detail (Pickup point, destination, pickup date time, taxi type as well as number of passenger). You need to book the taxi at lease 1 hour in advance. For SunlightRadio Taxi advance booking, there will be a RM 10 service charges.

E-Commerce still a very new term for most of the people in Malaysia, but there is a study done by Paypal Online and mobile Shopping Insights 2011 found out that there are significant of increment on the online transaction done online, especially on the festive season. Christmas is the busiest day for online shopper to grab their gift.

Mobile shopping was driven by an increasing number of Malaysians going online via Internet-capable mobile devices. According to a recent InMobi report, smartphone penetration in Malaysians is at a sharp increase, where close to six in ten Malaysian digital consumers used their mobile phone to access the Internet in 2011. Google is profiting from ads posted by illegal London 2012 Olympics ticket resellers, the BBC reported. These ads have since been removed, as have ads for cannabis, fake identification cards, and passports that the BBC found and reported to Google.

Google told the BBC that “the company keeps any money it might make from companies advertising illegal services before such adverts are removed.”

BBC’s report recaps the ordeal of a woman who first found an ad from LiveOlympicTickets at the “very, very top” of Google after searching for “Olympic tickets.” That would be an AdWords ad (which is strangely referred to as a Sponsored Link multiple times in the report, even though Google renamed Sponsored Links to Ads in November 2010), which often appear above Google’s organic (algorithmically generated) search results. Naturally, she assumed this ad was trustworthy, being at the top of Google and all, and bought tickets from the scam site.

“Selling tickets on the open market without permission from the Olympic authorities is a criminal offence in the UK under the London Olympic and Paralympic Games Act 2006,” BBC reported. LiveOlympicTickets is “registered overseas” and wasn’t an official 2012 Olympic ticket reseller, so it’s unlikely they’ll have to pay the £20,000 fine for reselling Olympic tickets illegally.

Police had also requested Google to take down links to illegal Olympic ticket resellers. Apparently, LiveOlympicTickets remained the top advertisement for a week after the police asked Google to remove the ad.

“We have a set of policies covering which ads can and cannot show on Google. These policies and guidelines are enforced by both automated systems and human beings. When we are informed of ads which break our policies, we investigate and remove them if appropriate,” Google said in a statement. “Our aim is to create a simple and efficient way for legitimate businesses to promote and sell their goods and services whilst protecting them and consumers from illicit activity.”

This isn’t the first case of Google profiting off illegal activities via AdWords advertising. Google surrendered $500 million in 2011 to avoid prosecution after an investigation showed Google knowingly accepted illegal ads from pharmacies in Canada and elsewhere. Google also settled with the U.S. government for $3 million in 2007 over online gambling ads.

Today I need to rename a batch of file about >100 file from .jpg to .png for the testing of application purposes. Google around and found this free solution which make my life easy.

Select the folder where the file where the extension to be change and press Shirt and Right-click on the folder, and than select Open Command Window Here

You will now see a Command Window with the current folderdirectory open. Now type the following command line,

ren *.(current extension name) *.(extension you want)

Since I want to change the extension from .jpg to .jpg, in my case the command line would be,

ren *.jpg *.jpg

.

Now all the files inside the folder will change to the extension you want. It’s that simple.

• Below steps explain how web server and application server work together.
• User requests a page by typing a URL in the browser, and web server receives the request.
• Web server looks at the file extension to determine whether a web application server must process the page.
• If user requests a page that is simple web page like HTM or HTML extension, the web server fulfills the request and sends it back to browser.
• If user requests a page that application server must process like CFM, CFML or CFC extensions, the web server passes the request to the application server.
• The web application server processes the page and sends the result to the web server, which returns those results to browser.
