KuWo – All in one music box

Kuwo Music Box is a free music player for you to search, download, listen music, watch video clip, watch MV, browse forum, download game, images and much more. With such functionality, it should not call as music player, but should call as Music Box, or entertainment center software.

With the build in search engine in the KuWo music player, you can easily search a song or MV either by the song title; arties name, or album name. It includes the song from Asian, European, Japan, and Korea.

If you have no idea what song to listen, then “Today Recommended” may help you to discover the hit song, newer song, and newer album in the market. You may also look at what actually other users are listening at and just double click for the song title to get your copy.

When you found what your favorites song, you may choose either to download or stream it directly from Internet. With the KuWo Music Box, the song lyrics will be search and display to your automatically.

The beauty of this music player is if you are login your KuWo account while you listen at the song, it will actually accumulate some point for you and you will get promoted when you reach some point to enjoy better benefit. In addition, you may also synchronize your play list no matter where you are, as long as you login to your account.

    my kuwo box just stopped working all of a sudden. im not chinese either so i dont know whats wrongs and i can t read anything to try and figure it out. it just simply wont play music anymore.

      Just to go MSN –> Toops –> Options –> Personal and check the [Show song information from Windows Media Player as a personal message] checkbox.

      Than your contact will see your Personal title showing what song you are actually playing now at Kuwo.

      What error or message did you get? it is your local ISP or your computer firewall blocked this?

      As for me from Kuala Lumpur have no problem for that up to now.

    You may go to http://www.kuwo.cn/ and click on the download link at the home flash button. I just tested and everything is working fine.

    is there any virus due to using kuwo? coz my friend’s laptop had crashed when he is using kuwo..and also said that the anti virus he using had detect trojan

      So far I got no problem to use Kuwo. But I believe the trojan detected is from the pop up advertisement window.

      I found out one thing that if you wish to update the Kuwo, the best way is uninstall the old version (don’t choose to delete everything including the playlist, if not you will lost everything), than only install the new version. If not it will have 2 copy of Kuwo in your computer, when you try to start the application, the 2nd startup apps will force to close the first startup apps. the window will always pop up the alert to ask you to force close up the old version of Kuwo and run the new version.

    how to disable global keyboard shortcut?

    i try change the key, but it still using the previous setting

      Sorry, i think i disable the global keyboard shortcut already
      but i got another problem
      before open Kuwo, when using excel/word: i can block a whole word with ctrl+shift+left/right
      after open Kuwo (before disable global keyboard shortcut), when using excel/word: next or previous song
      after open Kuwo (after disable global keyboard shortcut), when using excel/word: nothing happen

        I not too sure on your what’s your system problem, but I can suggest you try to enabled back the Global Keyboard Shortcut, but removed the function key CTRL + Shift + left/right. This is what I did in my system.

        For my case, everything is working fine as per expected after I remove the function key from the Kuwo.

    Hi, i’m using Ku Wo 2013, cant download songs as usual. and there’s a message pop out

    saying ” due to copyright issue, downloading songs available only in China”

    Please advise. This only starts in this year.

      May i know what song or what content are you downloading actually? because i tested on my Kuwo 2013, that’s no problem to download the current listen song.

          I cant confirm on the Singapore is that blocked by Kuwo on song download, but we have no problem in Malaysia.

    I tried download Kuwo Music Box several times, each time I got one the has funny character or words (not Chinese) I can’t comprehend. Please help! Thanks.

      Can you please double check on your PC, are you install the Chinese language pack?

      Start –> Control Panel –> Region and Language –> Administrative –> Current language for non-unicode program

    I have downloaded Kuwo Music Box 2013 but unfortunately could not download due to copyright issue, downloaded only allowed in China. Anyway to rectify this.

      Ya, i just found out this problem yesterday, you can Google for China proxy and enter it into you Kuwo Music box network. Or the alternative is you can download the music from http://music.baidu.com/, and you still need to find a proxy from China.

      Hi, I just give a try yesterday to confirm the functionality, Kuwo’s Proxy is not allow you to by pass the country checking as well.

      And i try another way to download the music from Internet is via the music.Baidu.com by entering the Proxy IP into my firefox browser and manage to bypass the country blocking.

      To get the china proxy server IP, you may refer to http://spys.ru/free-proxy-list/CN/
      To enter the proxy in Firefox, you may refer to http://www.wikihow.com/Enter-Proxy-Settings-in-Firefox

      Ya, I believe Kuwo start block the country other than China to download the song since few days ago. But you still be able to download the song from Music.baidu.com with the China country proxy.

      I will share on how to add the proxy as well as how to download via Baidu very soon.

      I believe same thing happen to Kuwo in MAC version where they already block all the download from all country other than China.

      You may use Baidu music + China Proxy to download the song that you like to.

      May I know what Operating system are you using? and can you make sure that your OS can view the Chinese language? if cannot, than you may need to install the language pack for your OS.

      Up to now i never try the Kuwo in my iPad yet, so I cant confirm on this, but what you can try is plugin your iPad to iTune, than go to application page, than try to go to the bottom part of the page.

      If the Kuwo allow you to include the song into the application, than you should be able to drag and drop into this area. You can try it and let’s me know is that workable.

      Is your iPad jailbroken? if yes, you may try on the sj91 (http://iphone.91.com/). I never try that before, if you manage to get it done, maybe can share with me.

    Hi i have kuwo on my android phone and it used to have lyrics on my screen when i exited the app but now i updated it now it wont come out and i cant read chinese so how do i fix it

      At this moment, Kuwo block the download of the MV from outside of China mainland. You can try the alternative way, which is try to use VPN to bypass the location blocking.

      For the VPN, i would suggest you looking for strong VPN (http://strongvpn.com/) which the price is around USD 15 (~ RM 45). you can also watch the PPS without any issue

      Open your Kuwo application, than go to Setting, than go to 窗口歌词, uncheck the 将启动画面设为壁纸 & 播放时显示桌面写真. hopefully this help

          The chinese charecter unable to display issue may due to your computer language setting. may I know what is your operating window version

            Because window 7 is not come with Chinese language pack install, so you may need to install the Chinese language pack for your window, you need the window installer CD and following the following step:

            1) Click on start > Control Panel
            2) Click on clock, Language and Region > Region and Language->
            3) Keyboard and Languages >Change keyboards > Add > Chinese (Simlified,PRC)
            Please choose which IME you want to install, and then apply the settings.
            I hope that this information helps. Please get back to us if you have any more questions about this issue.

            After installing the chinese language pack and yet your Kuwo still displaying the ???? char, you may try to reinstall the Kuwo application again, it should help.

    When I play music in kuwo the music will suddenly stop about 10seconds then continue play.
    How to fix this problem???

      is that because of the buffer? i experience this problem also, but mine 1 is because of the buffer and sometime if internet speed is not good, it will just skip that song and continue with the next buffered song.

      You try to check is that your connection slow issue

      Sorry, I’m using Andriod phone, I not too sure whether surface able to let’s you copy out those file or not. I will try to find a way and hopefully can answer your question soon.

    hi david, I have the same problem with ben, I download some songs in kuwo music app using my Microsoft surface rt but I cannot find the download files in anywhere in the surface except for kuwo music apps. I wanted to copy all the songs in kuwo into my pendrive and mp3. Hope that you had already find a way to help us. Thank you 🙂

    because my windows are originally vista and the computer shop guy insisted installing pirated copy of windows 7 for me so i could not u noe… put in cd and set in ctrl panel like u previously taught…

      You need to get the Windows 7 installer CD in order to install the Chinese Language, it still working with the Window 7 Pirated version, no worry.

    Hi, I’ve downloaded Kuwo 2015 on my laptop. But the at my files, i keep seeing “Lyrics” and “Temp”.
    Is there a way to stop it’s auto download?? Coz every time after listening to music, I’ll have to delete the 2 folders. It’s annoying. Thanks 🙂

    Hi, I want to stop the “lyrics” and “temp” auto download in my KWdownload file. How do I do it?? Also there’s another file that is Kwdownloadx. It always appears, what is it??
    Coz every time i listen to a new song, it’ll auto download and it’s annoying for i have to keep deleting it. Pls help.

      Kuwo is build to auto stream the lyrics when you play the song, the lyrics file will be default store in the C:\KwDownload\Lyric and the rest of the temp file (music file or advertisement file) will be stored at C:\KwDownload\Temp.

      You cannot disable the file to be download to your computer but you can limit the size to store those file. You can follow the following step on how to set the buffer limit

      设置 –> 本地下载 –> 缓存大小设置 –> 手动 –> [set the space allocated in MB]
