Sony’s PlayStation 4 will be available in Malaysia on December 20, 2013 for RM1,799. But with the console officially launching today (November 15) in the U.S. and Australia, does it make more sense to buy one from overseas (don’t forget, all PS4 games are region-free)? Let’s find out.
As you can see, the U.S. is by far the cheapest option if you’re planning on importing a PS4, at a converted price of just RM1,277. However, due to the size and weight of the console, the cost of shipping and importing it into Malaysia may well cost you an arm and a leg. As such, if you can wait until December 17, your next best bet is Hong Kong, where the console will be on sale for HK$3,380 or approximately RM1,395. Whatever you do, don’t buy one from Brazil.
