UOB launches its all-in-one UOB Mighty mobile app

UOB Mighty, an all-in-one banking mobile app has been launched by United Overseas Bank (UOB) Malaysia, that integrates dining, banking and payment features into one app. The app lets users transform their smartphones into digital wallets as well as enjoying incredible dining deals in Malaysia and across the region.

The app was developed to provide customers a suite of dining-related services with a directory of more than 2,000 restaurants in Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. Users are able to search restaurants, make reservations, submit reviews and perform cashless transactions when they eat out.

Based on data by UOB Malaysia, their customers are spending more when dining out and using more contact-less ‘wave and pay’ methods. UOB Malaysia’s cardholders spent 20 times more at restaurants in the last 12 months compared to the previous year. Contact-less payment transactions have increased by ten times compared to last year within the same time period as well.

Customers also are able to make payments that are secure, having the same protection as chip and PIN payments.

Users that have Near Field Communication (NFC) support in their smartphone and a UOB credit or debit card may also make contact-less payments through the app thanks to the assurance of tokenized security, where customers’ card payment data on the mobile device is encrypted to protect confidential card information.

All users would have to do is launch the app, select the ‘Pay’ function, enter a PIN and tap to pay at NFC-enabled point-of-sale terminals in Malaysia and overseas.

The app lets UOB Mighty lets users perform banking transactions daily, inclusive of paying bills, on the go fund transfers and the ability to check account balances. UOB Malaysia debit and credit cardholders who use the UOB Mighty to make transactions will be eligible to take part in the RM1 million cashback program happening till February 4 2018. The UOB Mighty App is already available on iOS and Android.
